Monica Hornung is a healing arts professional well versed in a holistic approach to mind, body and spirit. As a yoga instructor for 20 years, she brings to her students a depth of experience in Hatha, Ashtanga and Vinyasa style yoga, having trained across the globe with internationally acclaimed yoga practitioners. She also maintains a practice as a massage therapist, specializing in neuromuscular therapy and is certified to teach Reiki. Experimenting with numerous styles of yoga and massage modalities is a passion that has given her a deep understanding of the body and its connection to the mind. As a child growing up in Venezuela, Monica wanted to become a doctor, but early on understood that most illnesses come from the mind and the way we treat our bodies with food and biomechanics. Working at Hippocrates Health Institute and studying the alkaline diet of Dr. Robert Young, she has become well versed on natural ways to heal. Monica is the owner of YogaMundo and provides studio classes in a small group setting as well as private classes. She is an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher — ERYT 500 — with the Yoga Alliance and began her teacher practice in 1998, and continues to grow in her own practice and experience that she brings to her students. Monica has organized and co-hosted yoga retreats held around the world. Monica is currently enrolled in Mastery University with Anthony Robbins and loves to inspire, heal, bring joy, and make a difference in people’s lives.
